Our Story
Industrial Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in 1990 by owners Harvey G. Buhr and Virgil Kirkweg with a straightforward goal: provide design and build services that are timely, cost-effective, and built to the highest standard for industrial and institutional clients. More than thirty years later, that goal hasn't changed, but the scope of our capabilities has grown considerably.
IEI is based in Jefferson City, Missouri, and works with commercial and industrial clients across the country and internationally. Our projects range from custom platforms and mezzanines to full facility fabrication and installation scopes—and almost none of them look exactly alike, by design. We don't build from a catalog. We build to the specific requirements of the project.

Safety As A Standard,
Not a Checklist
Safety isn't something we layer on top of a project. It's part of how every project gets built. Our clients trust IEI with complex, often high-risk industrial work, and that trust is built on a safety record we take seriously. IEI trains to union and OSHA standards and adapts to meet the specific safety requirements of each client facility we work in.
Our program includes an in-house Safety Director, company-wide OSHA 30 training, annual refreshers, confined space and rescue training, and certification on aerial lifts and powered industrial trucks.

What’s Next for IEI
IEI is in a period of deliberate growth. We're in the process of building and moving into a new facility—an investment that will expand our production capacity, allow us to further optimize our processes, and bring in new equipment including a fiber laser. For our clients, that means even more capability, faster turnaround on complex scopes, and a reliable partner that's building for the long term.
